The Gryphon School Choirs
University Music Bournemouth Choir and Orchestra

Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Horn Concerto no.3 in E flat, K.447
Henry Purcell: Come Ye Sons of Art, Z.323
Bob Chilcott: Little Jazz Mass

The Gryphon School come together with Bournemouth University in an enticingly diverse programme, opening with Year 12 student Danny Mitchell in Mozart’s beguiling Third Horn Concerto. Purcell’s stately birthday ode for Queen Mary Come Ye Sons of Art, famous for the aria ‘Sound the Trumpet’, provides a wealth of opportunity for the choir’s soloists, while Chilcott’s jazzy Mass setting is the deeply atmospheric closing.

The Gryphon School Choir comprises Secondary School students ranging in age from 11 to 18. University Music Bournemouth comprises not only undergraduates, postgraduates and members of staff, but also members of the local community who come together to participate in a wide range of musical concerts and events throughout the academic year. The University Orchestra for this programme is supported by professional instrumentalists.
